A personal note from Aneita:

When my son came home from fighting the war on terror for nearly 2 full years, I was just glad to see him home in one piece! He had all his arms, legs and no visible wounds other than a back that bothered him from a fall and some hearing loss experienced from the loudness of the situation he had been in. Everything seemed minor to what I could have been facing…like so many of our fallen soldiers families have had to face. My heart and my prayers go out to them in their loss and sorrow.

Still, I never realized the hole that war had left in my son’s heart and soul. I saw some differences in him, but had never heard of Combat Post-traumatic Stress, so didn’t have anything to connect it with, except knowing he had been in some very hard situations. I felt time would have to take care of some of that. I had no idea just how serious what I was noticing could be. It is my hope and prayer that what we are doing with The Hidden Front will prevent any other families from having to go through additional trauma such as what my son and our family have had to deal with due to Combat Post-traumatic Stress Disorder. If just one family is spared the heartache we have experienced, all our efforts will have been worth it.

Because of an incident that occurred due to Combat PTSD, my son is serving a prison sentence of 22-36 years. I love my son and have the highest regard for him because of what he has done for our country and our family. My family and I stand beside him 100% and will continue to be there for him. He was willing to die for us…so we could live in the comfort and freedom that we enjoy every day. We continue to fight for him just to receive treatment for Combat PTSD in prison as there are no treatment programs for this in the prison system in Nebraska, and no one qualified to treat it. Through out the time we have walked this road with my son, I have felt the presence of my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, in a way I have not experienced before. I know that He can heal the broken-hearted and heal any wounds that occur in the soul. I am quite willing to share this with anyone that is interested. The healing of Christ is the greatest tool we can offer to those that seek healing. We will not push it, as it is something that one needs to come to on their own, but we want you to know that we will walk with you to help you find the grace, forgiveness and love that your soul may be needing. I will be there for any soldier and/or their family that needs me in any way I can. Our warriors that fight for us deserve no less. They are not machines, they are flesh and blood with emotions that can be injured by what they see and have to do…with just the general experiences of war. They have been willing to lay down their lives for us…how can we do any less for them?

I am just a Mom, but I have learned a few things going through this situation with my son and I will willingly share any knowledge I have gained with anyone that feels they could benefit from it. Contact me at the email address on the home page. I will respond as quickly as I can.

We live in THE LAND OF THE FREE, BECAUSE OF THE BRAVE! And I take that very seriously.
